Summary: Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.

Her father was right. The monsters are real….

To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies….

My Thoughts: I was very excited about starting this book because I have been obsessed with everything Alice in Wonderland lately. I love Alice and I enjoy a great zombie novel, so I thought this would be a great book for me. Unfortunately, it did not hold my attention.

The story started off strong with the death of her family, the white rabbit cloud, and the “monsters”. I thought it was going to lead somewhere amazing. It was shattered to pieces when she started her new school and met Cole Holland. The second he comes in, the story turns from an Alice/Zombie story to a romance YA.

I only read YA books if they seem to be more than romantic fluff and this one deceived me. I could not finish the book because of the overbearing romance story line. It was not holding my attention and my reading time could be spent with better stories. I’m very disappointed; I thought this was going to be a great read, but it didn’t turn out that way.

I would recommend this book to romance YA lovers.

Goodreads Rating: 1/5.
